“Is it normal to feel this way?”
This is the question I hear all the time. And it’s probably the most difficult for someone to ask me because what they’re really wondering is if they’re OK or not.
When I went through my divorce, there were times when I wondered if I was still sane! I just felt so different than I’d ever felt before – and not in a good way. Everything was either incredibly difficult or sad which had me alternating between fear and anger. To say it was unsettling would be an understatement.
So this month I thought I’d share with you the way I learned to think about divorce recovery (and how I’ve taught hundreds of people to think about it too) so that you’ll be able to weather this tumultuous time more easily and understand that what you’re feeling is probably pretty normal.
