Hi Dr. Karen, 33 years of my life and counting with a physiological abuser. I’m 64 years old now and have been searching for the answers steadily for 10 years. Lots of councilors, group, program, advocates, utube, etc. Finally understanding what has happened to me. Now I’m getting ready to get out! I already know the divorce won’t be easy at all. The after care will be as hard but the sweet taste of freedom is on my mind.
    Cheers,
    Lori

I’m struggling so hard to accept my divorce after 30years of marriage. I caused all of this and I can not forgive myself. I miss my ex husband daily and wish I could have realized the choices I was making before it came to this. I don’t know how to live without my husband, he was my world but I let it slip away because I was hooked on drugs and could not understand then what I was doing. My life will never again be right and I’ll never understand how i let this happen and I will forever hate myself for it

      Dear Lisa,

I’m so sorry to learn about all the pain you’re struggling with.

I also wish you wouldn’t hate yourself. My belief is that it’s only by loving and accepting ourselves that we can truly move on.

      Warmly,
      Karen
